Privacy Policy

When you join the waitlist, we collect the information you submit in the waitlist form:

• Full name
• Email address
• WhatsApp number
• University and major
• Year of study and current course load
• Academic struggles you select (e.g. deadlines, GPA pressure, procrastination, burnout)
• Planning tools you currently use
• Whether you'd be willing to upload a syllabus to test the product
• Which product features sound useful to you
• Whether you'd be willing to join a feedback call
• Your open-ended answer about why you want early access

When you use the product (once you have an account), we additionally collect:

• Account credentials (your email and a securely hashed password)
• Syllabus files you upload, and the assignments, exams, deadlines, and grade weights extracted from them
• Courses, tasks, and schedule preferences you enter or that the app generates on your behalf
• Billing information processed by our payment provider (we do not store your card details ourselves)
• Basic technical data such as device/browser information and error logs, used to keep the service reliable

• To manage the waitlist and contact you (by email or WhatsApp) about your early-access invite
• To create and secure your account, and authenticate you when you sign in
• To extract deadlines, assignments, and grade weights from syllabi you upload, and build your study schedule
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To send service-related messages — verification emails, password resets, and reminders you've opted into
• To understand how the product is used so we can fix problems and improve it
• To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security issues

We do not sell your personal information.

When you upload a syllabus, the file is sent to a third-party AI provider (Google's Gemini API) to extract structured data — assignments, exams, deadlines, and grade weights — which stydo.ai then uses to build your schedule. We only send what's needed to process the document and do not use your syllabi to train our own models.

We share information only with service providers who help us run stydo.ai, including:

• Payment processing (Stripe)
• Transactional email delivery (for verification and password-reset emails)
• AI document processing (Google Gemini API), for syllabus parsing
• Error monitoring and infrastructure providers, who help us keep the service running reliably

These providers only receive what they need to perform their function and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of stydo.ai or our users.

We keep waitlist submissions until early access is rolled out or you ask us to delete them. Account data is kept for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you return, unless you request earlier deletion.

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing, never in plain text. Access to your account is protected by signed authentication tokens. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

• You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you
• You can opt out of WhatsApp or email communications at any time (except essential account/security notices)
• You can remove a syllabus, course, or task from your account whenever you like
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data protection law

stydo.ai is intended for university and college students. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
